Jacksonville Beach Guide | Sarah’s Small Town Escapes

Jacksonville Beach is one of Florida’s cutest small surf towns! I loved experiencing its charm, exploring the variety of things to do, and learning more about its history, and you just can’t beat the incredible ocean views! Here are seven ways to enjoy a perfect day (and night!) in this coastal gem.

1. Catch the sunrise on the beach and walk the pier

Start your morning with a stroll on the sand and then visit the Jacksonville Beach Pier. It’s a popular spot for fishing and sightseeing.

  • Walking: $2.00 (non-local) | $1.00 (local)

  • Fishing: $5.00 (non-local) | $4.00 (local)

2. Grab Coffee and sweet Greek treats

Just steps away, stop at Lukumades for coffee and their famous Greek donuts. They come in creative flavors. my favorite was Cookies Crema, topped with white chocolate and crushed Oreos!

3. Learn local history

Head over to the Beaches Museum to learn about the pioneers who shaped the community, Jacksonville Beach’s ties to early film production, and the Florida land boom. This free museum is packed with stories that give you a whole new appreciation for the area.

4. Create your own candle

Get creative at Wick N Twisted, where you can pour your own custom candle. While it cools, slip through the secret passageway to Jacksonville Beach’s first self-pour tap wall and enjoy drinks and games.

5. Enjoy a healthy lunch stop

For a fresh midday bite, grab lunch at Delicomb, a local favorite known for homemade eats. Their chicken pesto panini is a standout!

6. Explore the area by bike

Rent a bike from Beach Life Rentals and cruise through the charming beachside neighborhoods. It’s the best way to discover tucked-away shops, colorful murals, and cute neighborhoods.

7. End the day with sunset cocktails & a historic stay

Wrap up your day with a drink at the Penthouse Lounge, perched atop the historic Casa Marina Hotel. This Spanish-Mediterranean beauty has been a coastal landmark since 1925. with 23 individually designed rooms and suites, it’s the perfect home base for exploring everything Jacksonville Beach has to offer!
