5 Best Florida Beach Getaways for Spring

March in Florida means it’s time to plan a beach vacation. If you’re looking for something a little extra special, here are five standout stays across the state, from the Conch Republic to North Florida.

Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach

Spend a few days on the sand at Florida’s “Pink Palace.” The Don CeSar, built in 1928, resembles a Mediterranean-style castle. Stay in one of more than 200 rooms and suites with views of the beach or The Don’s signature architecture.

Lounge in the signature pink beach chairs under striped umbrellas and take a dip in the Gulf. You can also enjoy the two heated pools and grab a drink at Beacon Pool Bar. The deck is a great spot to catch a sunset.

Casa Marina Resort in Key West

One of the most historic and luxurious stays in Key West is Casa Marina Resort, home to the largest private beachfront on the island. The hotel was envisioned by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler, who built the Overseas Railroad, though he passed away before it opened in 1920.

For decades, Casa Marina has hosted celebrities, dignitaries, politicians, and athletes. In 2024, it completed an $80 million renovation that updated the restaurants, rooms, and suites.

Gasparilla Inn in Boca Grande

Now in its 112th season, The Gasparilla Inn & Club on Gasparilla Island still feels like a hidden treasure, even though it has gained national attention. In fact, it was named the number one resort in Florida by the readers of Travel + Leisure in 2025.

While not directly on the Gulf, guests have access to The Beach Club, which includes three pools, shaded lounge areas, dining, and beach access.

Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach

On the shores of Jacksonville Beach, Casa Marina Hotel has been a coastal landmark since 1925. With its Spanish-Mediterranean architecture and rich history, it has just 23 individually designed rooms and parlor suites. Beach access is just a few steps from the courtyard, making it super easy to spend your days on the sand.

One of the standout features is the Penthouse Lounge, a rooftop with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a go-to spot for both locals and visitors.

Shalimar Beach Resort in Sanibel

Shalimar Beach Resort, a family-owned favorite right on the Gulf since 1959 on Sanibel, reopened after being rebuilt from the ground up following a 2022 hurricane.

Shalimar has 33 brand-new accommodations, including Hotel Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, and Two-Bedroom Villas. Each unit has a private screened lanai, a fully equipped kitchen, and easy access to 360 feet of private shoreline where you can search for shells. There’s also a beachfront saltwater pool with Gulf views and a community BBQ and picnic area.
